Dear Matriculants, Happy Matriculation.
My poems to you exhibits my felicitations
For officially today you are a student of this great institution
Many sought, but only few were granted admission
You being among the chosen one calls for celebration
Thus, never forget according to God, due appreciations.
In your pursuit for sound education
You left friends and family, just to pursue your vision.
However, for you here are piece of advice cum inspiration.
Approach every task only after better preparation
Do endeavor to work towards achieving your mission
Chase well your dreams, be it with dissatisfaction.
Now being a University student, from no one should you expect coercion.
To anything that can cause academic obstruction
Be quick in placing limitations
Even if by means of unwanted restrictions
Do so, so as not to be victimized by the repercussions
Forget not as well, the best way to preserve your admission
Is by strictly adhering to the school injunctions.
Oh yee freshers, in this academic pursuit of yours, uphold unto dedication.
For it is an hectic task, you so need devotion.
Queues, transportation and the unfriendly injunctions.
Reading, researches, assignments, and classes at times might cause frustration
But, these odysseys are mostly inevitable in education
However, the best remedy is to keep increasing your passion
And I so hope at the end, Almighty God grant you elevation.
